|The complete catalogue of all salivary components, including their stratification according to their parotid, submandibular and sublingual origins, has been generated using state-of-the-art, sensitive and high-throughput proteomics technologies. This systematic study of all salivary secretory components, post-translational modifications and protein complexes has been elucidated to provide a description of their structure and function.
Saliva Proteome Knowledge Base (SPKB) centralizes the acquired proteomic data and annotates the identified saliva proteins. The SPKB is fully accessible to the public for queries regarding the identified proteins, which are linked to public protein databases. This work is supported by National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR).
Salivary Proteome Wiki (SPW) which is a collaborative environment to share and annotate salivary proteomics data will be launched soon by National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR).
